Northeast India’s Music Scene Comes Alive at The Maroon Room
Guwahati recently witnessed an electrifying musical extravaganza as The Maroon Room (TMR), in collaboration with Razr Live, hosted the highly anticipated Vibrasphere Festival from January 31 to February 2, 2025. With a stellar lineup of 12 top bands, the festival delivered three unforgettable nights of rock, indie, jazz, and funk, further establishing TMR as the ultimate destination for live music in Northeast India.

The festival opened with a powerful performance by Arghadeep Baruah and his band, Bottle Rockets India. Arghadeep, known for his work in films like Aamis and Emuthi Puthi, brought his signature storytelling style to the stage, seamlessly blending rock, folk, and soul to set the perfect tone for the festival.

The energy kept rising as Trance Effect, one of Nagaland’s most celebrated indie bands, captivated the audience with their alternative rock and indie-pop fusion. Their set proved why they are among the most exciting bands in Northeast India’s indie music scene.

SKD, a seasoned performer who has rocked stages at IPL 2023 & 2024, as well as the Northeast Festival in Delhi, brought a genre-spanning set that fused Assamese and Western influences. His high-energy performance and engaging stage presence turned the night into an electrifying spectacle.
On the final day, Meghalaya’s 4th Element delivered a soulful and groove-filled set, seamlessly blending jazz, funk, and soul. Their performance added a sophisticated, yet infectious energy, proving that Northeast India’s music scene is as diverse as it is dynamic.

The grand finale featured none other than Alobo Naga & The Band. Fresh from his role in Amazon Prime’s Paatal Lok, Alobo Naga returned to his musical roots with a show-stopping performance. His blend of rock, pop, and folk left the crowd spellbound, making for a truly unforgettable closing act.
