Guns N’ Roses in Guwahati: The Music, the City and Your Concert Day Plan

Guns N’ Roses play Guwahati on Tuesday, 17 November 2026, at Khanapara Veterinary Ground. If you’re travelling in for the show, make a little room for Guwahati itself. The city deserves more than a hurried drive between your hotel and the concert gates.

Why this band still fills a concert field

Guns N’ Roses arrived from Los Angeles with a sound that could be rough, theatrical and unexpectedly tender, sometimes within the same album. Axl Rose’s voice, Slash’s guitar and Duff McKagan’s bass remain at the heart of the band fans are coming to see in Guwahati. Their 1987 debut, Appetite for Destruction, gave rock listeners “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City.” The songs are familiar; hearing a crowd sing them together is another experience entirely.

Their discography has more range than a greatest hits playlist suggests. G N’ R Lies (1988) brought the acoustic “Patience.” In 1991, Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II pushed the band into larger arrangements and longer songs, including “November Rain” and “Estranged.” The Spaghetti Incident? (1993) explored the punk and rock songs that influenced them, while Chinese Democracy (2008) took their sound in a different direction. For a pre-show listening session, start with those albums in order and see how far the music travels.

One lovely coincidence: Guwahati gets Guns N’ Roses in November. That should give “November Rain” an extra charge if it makes the setlist. The setlist, of course, is theirs to choose.

Where to stay

Make Khanapara your first hotel search if getting to and from the venue easily is your priority. Vivanta Guwahati is on Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva Road in Khanapara. For a stay around GS Road, compare hotels in that area too, then check the actual travel route to the venue before booking. Concert traffic can make a short distance feel much longer.

If you’re staying longer and want a different part of the city, Radisson Blu Guwahati is in Gotanagar. It could suit a wider trip, though you should allow more time to reach Khanapara on show day. Book early and check cancellation terms before you commit.

What to do before the guitars start

Give yourself a slower morning. If this is your first visit, try an Assamese meal, browse for local tea to take home, or spend time by the Brahmaputra. Keep your sightseeing light enough to leave plenty of energy for the evening. If you have an extra day, explore more of the city after the concert rather than squeezing it all into show day.

Your concert day checklist

Check the official ticket listing on the day. Confirm entry time, gate, permitted items and any transport updates. The listing currently shows 4:00 PM for the event; treat that as the listed event time, not a promise of when Guns N’ Roses will take the stage.

Eat properly and drink water beforehand. A long outdoor show is more fun when you’re comfortable.

Travel with a buffer. Arrange a drop-off and a meeting point with your group; plan how you’ll get home when many people leave at once.

Take the essentials. Keep your ticket, charged phone, ID and any items permitted by the organizer close at hand. Comfortable shoes will serve you better than an ambitious outfit.

Protect your hearing. Concert earplugs can help you enjoy the music at a comfortable level, particularly near loudspeaker stacks.
