An Evening of Discovery: Wine, Conversation & Connection at The Maroon Room
Some evenings are remembered not just for what was served, but for how they made people feel.
Our recent Wine Tasting Evening at The Maroon Room was one such experience—an intimate gathering where wine became more than a drink; it became a conversation starter, a storyteller, and a reason for strangers to become friends.
Guided beautifully by our sommelier, Apurva Aras, Head – Batches and Blends, guests embarked on a curated journey through carefully selected wines, discovering the subtle differences in aroma, body, acidity, and finish that make every bottle unique. The wines showcase included 3 fantastic wines – Bush Ballad Chardonnay, Bush Ballad Shiraz, and Mateus Rose Wine put in place by Aspri Spirits, on of India’s largest sales, marketing and distribution company for premium wines, spirits and beers.Whether they were seasoned wine enthusiasts or first-time explorers, everyone found something new to appreciate.
The evening wasn’t about memorising tasting notes or understanding complex wine jargon. It was about slowing down, enjoying every sip, asking questions, sharing opinions, and discovering that wine is best experienced together.
As glasses were raised and conversations flowed, the room came alive with laughter, stories, and genuine connections. What began as a wine tasting gradually transformed into a gathering of people brought together by curiosity, good company, and a shared appreciation for great food and exceptional wines.
To complement each pour, our chefs prepared thoughtfully paired bites that enhanced the flavours of every wine, creating an experience that delighted both the palate and the senses.
And for many, the night didn’t end there.
As the formal tasting concluded, the atmosphere shifted effortlessly into a lively karaoke session. Guests who had arrived as individuals stayed back to sing, cheer one another on, and create memories that extended well beyond the final pour. It was the perfect reminder that the best evenings are often the ones that unfold naturally.
At The Maroon Room, we believe hospitality goes beyond serving food and drinks. It’s about creating moments that people carry home with them—moments of discovery, laughter, friendship, and celebration.
